The Sakhalin region is increasingly attracting the attention of sophisticated travelers who want to actively spend their holidays in the Far East. This program provides comfortable accommodation, travel by SUV, boats and a large number of walking routes. After all, we are visiting the most active islands - Kunashir and Shikotan.
Kunashir is the southernmost island of the large Kuril Islands. It ranks third in area among all the islands. The tourist infrastructure here is not so developed, but you can find positive aspects in this. The authenticity of the island is still preserved here, the charm of the pristine and natural color is felt.
The Lesser Kuril Ridge is located 57 km from Kunashir Island. The largest island in this archipelago is Shikotan. One of the names of the island that Russian explorers gave it is Figurny. Apparently already at that time, sailors noticed all the beauty of the island’s coastline. High cliffs, bays protruding deeply into the land and sharp capes were as if specially carved.
One of the main advantages of Shikotan is the complete absence of bears. Low-growing vegetation will add comfort when moving, and the seascape will give incredible panoramas.
As part of this trip, we will have a very active time, make many hikes to such attractions as: Cape Crab, Cape World's End, Bezymyannaya Bay, Cape Trident, Mount Shikotan (Shikotan Island), Cape Stolbchaty, Mendeleev Volcano, Caldera of Golovnin Volcano, Pervukhina Bay (Kunashir Island), Aniva Lighthouse, Capes Ptichy and Velikan (Sakhalin Island). Travel between the islands is carried out by boat, and this is already a small adventure within our scenario.
This program is suitable for those who are looking for adventure, are ready to sacrifice comfort for the sake of impressions, for those who are physically prepared and full of enthusiasm to discover the Sakhalin region.
